Whats Really Goin’ On Kelly

December 23, 2005 by Sophmore

Well R.Kelly done went and remixed the national anthem and nobody told him to do it. He just went and fucked it up. Whats really goin on in his head is that he thynks he is jus a musical genious and everything he does will be successful. He has sum genious in him but not enough to go fuck wit the national anthem. Its sounds lyke crap, R. Kelly if ya reading go back to chicago and play with lil gurls but if ya cant do that then go make me sum more chapters for Trapped in the Closet, cuz my closet is gettin empty.

Now yall tell me which is better the original anthem or his remix.

Who’s Gonna Take the Throne

Nother Hot Topic from Cake&IceCream

Since she came out Mary J Blige has been holding it down as the reigning queen of Hip-Hop Soul. This is not only my opinion, but also the opinion of many journalists and music enthusiasts as well. Mary was the first to take hip-hop beats and smooth them out with an R&B flow. Of course no one will replace Mary, she has earned her spot in the music history books and is well on her way to becoming a legend. But what artist do you think is up next to wear the crown? Here are a few contenders (but feel free to add in your own choices): Ashanti, Keyshia Cole, Olivia, or Fantasia. All of the those women share a similiar style to that of Mary. They all sing R&B vocals but with a hip-hop edge. My vote goes to Keyshia Cole, when she sings, it gives me that same feeling that Mary’s music gives me. You can feel it in your soul and you know that it is coming from her heart. Not to mention Keyshia is also hood like Mary, she has that street edge. But that’s just my opinion, WHAT’S YOURS???

Well i agree i cans ee Keyshia being the next Queen of Hip Hop Soul, nobody else has a chance to even get near the title while Keyshia’s still in the game. Whenever she sings you can just feel whatever emotion shes tryna to get across. I thynk Keyshia could take any Mary joint and make her own and  we would still feel the pain or happiness that Mary made us feel.

Ciara vs Ashanti

December 22, 2005 by Sophmore

I was at this other blog Cake and Ice Cream and they had this topic so heres my reply.

I received a lot of request for this Hot Topic, so I decided to go ahead and have two new Hot Topics. So here we go…
Ashanti released her first cd in 2002. Ciara released her debut album last year. They’ve both experienced huge amounts of success in short periods of time and they both have also been criticised for not having strong singing voices. Some people say that neither of them are talented (I disagree). They both are beautiful, driven, and successful young women. If I have to choose, though I think they both are talented, my choice is Ciara. Ciara , like Ashanti, doesn’t have a very strong voice but she’s an excellent dancer, unlike Ashanti. But that’s the only reason I have for choosing Ciara because I really think they are about equal. But now I am asking you, who do you prefer??? Who, in your opinion, is the most talented between the two???

The more talented out of the two i would probably have to say, and i hate saying it is Ashanti. Ashanti wins this, and thats not good. This is how i break it down.

Dance Ability- Well we’ve all seen her make a fool out of herslef by trying to dance especially wit Only You. Then You got Ciara everyone knows that Ciara is killin everyone out right now when it comes to the dancin, my ultimate showdown at the moment would be watchin Usher, Omarion, Chris Brown, and Ciara battle it out by breakin and id even throw Mario into the mix.

Round 1 goes to Ciara

Singing Ability- Well neither one has a Beyonce let alone an Alicia Keys voice and there voices arnt that strong. But then you have to think about whos voice is stronger. Ashanti or Ciara’s, you got Ashanti average voice or Ciara’s airy voice. So there ya go.

Round 2 goes to Ashanti.

Its neck and neck to im going to the tie breaker.

Marketablity(Ways to make money outside of singing )- Well that would include writing songs for other artists, producing, acting, being a spokes-person, etc. Well you have Ashanti i dont care what no one says the ho cant act, im upset wit MTV and Paramount for giving her that role in Coach Carter when they know they should have given it to Adrien Bailon of 3LW., but people never learn cuz she showed up in the Muppets remake of the Wizard of Oz. Ciara hasnt made her debut in movies yet but she will very soon in a MTV Movie about VolleyBall, but i thynk she needs to get in You Got Served 2, naybe she will she is touring wit Omarion. Then you have other things Ashanti has her own clothing line with Mudd Jeans and shes been the spokes woman for many companies and has had her hands in writing hit songs for herself and other artists such as J-Ho. Now Ciara hasnt had a chance to do all the extra stuff and i doubt if she wrote songs for anyone on this album, so the winner because of experience is Ashanti.

Round 3 goes to Ashanti.

And thats how i broke down who should win, give Ciara a year and I thynk she’ll be the hands down winner.

Should we be surprised that Beyonce recently shot the video for her new single “Check On It” (which is available on Destiny’s Child’s new album, # 1’s) without the input of her former group mates? While Beyonce was shooting the video with noted director Hype Williams, Kelly Rowland was accepting an award for the group alone at the American Music Awards. “Kelly and Michelle love Beyonce but this caused a bit of conflict for the group,” a Sony employee, said.”Michelle was very upset that song was even placed on the album (leading us to believe she opted not to show up at the award ceremony) and Kelly was hurt that Beyonce did not make it to the awards” Other reports claim that Kelly had no idea that Beyonce would not be at the AMAs. Whatever the outcome, word to the wise or Kelly & Michelle. “You had to see this coming.”

Well Im surprised im read that looks lyke the best female group of all tyme really are breaking up and never coming back again. Im still confused why Michelle is mad about this anyway because they put her first single “Heard A Word” on their remix album, and beyonce jus did her friend Kelly straight wrong.Looks lyke MadTv had it right.

100 Things

December 20, 2005 by Sophmore

Well since the blog is called Confessions of a………… i guess this os where i can go and vent and say what im feeling, this blog will document a 15 year old angst and all the thyngs that run through my mind, good or bad.

  1. I am afraid of heights, where this fear stems from, id be the last for you to ask.
  2. I am afraid of elevators, this one I can explain. I was either 6 or 7 and I was at a family reunion in Dallas. Well we had sum type of meeting at the top of the hotel, Floor 51 well the meeting was over and we got on the elevator to go back to our floor. Well the elevator just kept goin up and down and all i could do was stand there feeling sick, my grandmother had passed out and the hotel couldnt do anything either so i was going up and down for bout 10 minues. That may explain why im hesitant to get on a rollercoaster.
  3. Mike Jones voice gets on my nerves especially when he says Who? Mike Jones! Who? Mike Jones! repeatedly especially his album. The only song i can tolerate him on is “im in love wit a stripper” by t-pain.

well thats it for the 1st installment maybe more later.
